Duty Stations: Marine Barracks, Mare Island, Vallejo, California

Memorable events: Marine Barracks Mare Island was basically an "R & R" placement for Marines returning from Vietnam. Sadly I witnessed the "aftermath" of symptoms from PTSD. My paperwork focused on various court martial cases that completely ignored the horrors that these Marines faced in Nam. It was as upsetting then as it is now. War is horrible in the many ways in which it destroys lives.
